ASUS Nexus Player based on Android TV lit up in the results GFX Bench – 3DNews

This fall, the market will begin to reach the first devices running Google Android TV. TV platform will be released along with the Google Android L for smartphones and tablets and will enable users to view streaming video from a variety of services like YouTube or Netflix, access music through iHeart Radio or TuneIn and run a lot of other applications and services on a large TV screen.

Google is also working with several companies to create a smart TVs and set-top boxes. It seems that one of the first such systems could be lighted in the results of the test package GFXBench. We are talking about a device named ASUS Nexus Player, which received a 1.8 GHz 4-core processor Intel x86 graphics PowerVR G6430, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal flash memory, support for Wi-Fi.

Platform goes under the name of Android L. As shown displays two screens: 23.7-inch and 31.9-inch. Both can offer a resolution of 1920 × 1080. Although there is a ghost is a possibility that we are talking about two smart TVs, yet the name of the ASUS Nexus Player rather points to the console to be connected to any output device via HDMI.

Google already said that ASUS will be one of the first manufacturers that release consoles based on Android TV. Razer’s also prepares the console, but Sony, Sharp, Philips and TP Vision creates smart TV with Android TV. But if the device ASUS really is brand Nexus, it could be a close partnership with Google, by analogy with smartphones and tablet Nexus.

It should be noted that not all devices will use the Android TV processors Intel. Google has said that the decision will also come with chips Qualcomm, NVIDIA, MediaTek and Marvell.
