Owners of Nexus Nexus 6 and 6P probably didn’t even know about a critical vulnerability found in their smartphones and fixed by Google before it became known to the public. Last year, the research team X-Force, IBM found in these smartphones, the vulnerability allows attackers in the presence of the devices to access the modem during the process of downloading. Also, it was necessary that the smartphone has been enabled for ADB which allows developers to download APK files. But the staff X-Force report that existed and work-arounds that do not require activation ADB.
This vulnerability allows attackers to make calls or get data about the phone calls, and to track the exact GPS coordinates of the phone without the user’s knowledge.
fortunately, Google has released a fix for the Nexus 6 back in November, and for the Nexus 6P – with the latest security patch. So the updates are highly recommended for installation, as the vulnerability now know thousands of users, including hackers.
