Recently, however, ASUS pays more attention to models that go under its own brands. Shift is an indirect indication that Google is considering to entrust the production of the next generation Nexus 7 new companion.
In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal head Asustek, Jerry Shen (Jerry Shen) said that in the IV quarter of 2013 the company expects to sell more of their own tablets than devices manufactured in conjunction with Google. Parity in favor of the first shift for the first time since, as ASUS has started to manufacture the Nexus 7.
Mr. Shen said that Asustek is focusing on its own models, because they bring her a big profit, but stressed that the company is still interested in cooperation with other brands.
“I think we have all the chances to get an order for production Nexus 7 and next year,” – he added.
However, past experience years suggests that Google prefers to periodically change their partners, and there is no guarantee that Asustek will be no exception. Apparently the prognosis, which shared Mr. Shen was just a matter of models that go under the trademarks ASUS. He said that next year the company expects to sell about 12 million of these devices, while not specifying the targets set by the Nexus 7.
For comparison, at the end of this year, Asustek will supply a total of about 12.1 million tablets. This includes both the company’s own models, and those that are released under the joint brand with Google.
