Can not wait for the appearance of a wireless update for the smartphone or tablet Nexus, using the manual procedure unfolding “firmware».

Google has prepared factory images of Android 5.0 Lollipop, the most ambitious upgrade of its mobile operating system for smartphones and tablets family Nexus. While the Internet giant is engaged in bringing to mind update in wireless form, you can try to deploy the “Firmware” manually. Instruction is simple:

download developer kit Android SDK, disguised under the name Eclipse ADT. This software organizes the communication between the computer and Android-powered device;

download corresponding to a specified smartphone or tablet Nexus factory image of Android 5.0 Lollipop;

– run the SDK-Manager, check the USB Drivers Google, and then disable everything that relates to Android 5.0, because we do not need an emulator. Checkboxes to Android SDK Tools and Android SDK Platform-tools must remain to happen updating to the latest editions;

– make a backup copy of Nexus-device, activate USB-Debugging in the settings for the developers, and then bring device mode Fastboot: To do this, turn the unit off and then turn on the power button while holding the keys to decrease and increase the volume;

– unzip the factory image in the directory specified Platform Tools SDK-set;

– connect smartphone or tablet to your computer, and then make sure that the screen of the mobile device in the status bar is shown inscription lock unlocked («unlocked”). If there is an inscription locked («locked”), should unlock the bootloader, and for this you need to choose a menu item fastboot oem unlock: navigation is done with buttons control volume, is responsible for the selection of the power supply button. It should be remembered that the procedure will erase all user data;

– if the device is booted with the Welcome screen, restart it again in the mode Fastboot, and then, turning to the command prompt or terminal computer, navigate to the directory Android SDK / platform -tools and post commands execution on flash-all.bat (Windows) or ./flash-all.sh (in Mac or Linux);

– will take a lot of time before you finish installing Android 5.0 Lollipop on equipment Nexus.
