The design of the Nexus 6 found multicolor LED – 3DNews

Over the headline of this news would be laughable, if in fact the situation is not fare quite sad. All owners of smartphones remember that not so long ago almost every manufacturer to equip their offspring additional LEDs do not necessarily color, but very convenient, when it was necessary to report came SMS or missed call, not including the screen and without putting the battery. Now, however, the presence of such LEDs in the design of the smartphone is the exception rather than the rule.

So it looks in the Nexus 6

However, this indicator was unexpectedly discovered in the design new flagship Google, Nexus 6, developed by Motorola. LED that can glow green, red and blue, is under the earpiece grille, but its presence is not stated among the advantages of this model, and more than that – by default, it has no function and does not work. But, as it turned out, the appropriate circuit in the circuit have a smartphone, and curious users managed to get this indicator work. Unfortunately, for this will need to have root-access, but the procedure is quite simple and well described by enthusiasts from the resource XDA Developers.

And so it was in the Nexus 5. History repeats itself

Utility Light Flow in this case works great and allows you to get virtually any color RGB-LED. Confirmed Android Lollipop, but as has been said, requires root, that goes on, not every user. Policy Google, is to abandon support for additional indicators of events in Lollipop, looks strange – for the company in this there is no benefit, and users are denied convenient, and in some cases irreplaceable opportunity, even if the hardware manufacturers and include such indicators in its design devices. Fortunately, third-party applications solve this problem.
