In October 2014 Internet giant Google in conjunction with Motorola introduced a new reference the Nexus 6, codenamed Shamu. He could get a fingerprint scanner, but the creators have deprived him of this feature shortly before the official announcement. On this day the newspaper writes ArsTechnica.
The fact that the Nexus 6 could get a fingerprint reader, shows the code found in the AOSP-programmer firmware image for the new smartphone. It was also found a note “Shamu: remove fingerprint support” (“Shamu: remove support for fingerprint”), left in August 2014.
If the final version of Nexus 6 would get a fingerprint scanner, activate it used to swipe gesture rather than a simple latch pin, as is the case with Touch ID in the iPhone and iPad.
